Mary Jo’s Performing Arts Academy Summer Camp
Musical Theatre – Glee Camp:  2 Week Program, July 16 – 27, 2012

Are your kids still looking for something to do this summer? There are still spots available in this exciting, high energy, musical theatre workshop that will allow students to act, sing, and dance their way through Broadway, film & pop songs in the style of GLEE. The students will work to create age appropriate characters, plot, scenes and lines. They will help to select the music, and learn acting, dancing and singing techniques, with professional industry instructors. The program will build to a full musical theatre performance at the end of camp. Students spend two weeks working in a hands-on environment learning playwriting, plot formation, music fundamentals, stage and performance techniques, Students will experience group and individual instruction, and will be RECORDING and PERFORMING. The workshop will culminate in a performance in the MJPAA Black Box Theatre.

This creative and educational camp starts next Monday, July 16 and runs two weeks through Friday, July 27, 2012. Daily, the camp runs Monday through Friday from10:00 am - 4:00 pm, and is for ages 8 to 18. Mary Jo’s Performing Arts Summer Camps offer FREE early drop off at 8:00 am, and FREE aftercare until 6:00 PM. Students are also provided with a daily snack& and a Camp T-Shirt is included! This one-week workshop exposes students to the techniques necessary for on camera auditioning. They will learn how to prepare for the audition, develop improvisational skills, set a scene, character preparation and movement skills for the camera. This workshop is designed for the beginner student interested in getting into the industry as well as the student who has some experience and hopes to polish their skills to pursue the competitive market.
